Bye bye bink's

So I decided it's finally time to take the bink's away from my 2 1/2 year old... it is something I have really been putting off for too long. Way too long. We talked about it for a day, and I told her that now that she is a little kid, she doesn't need them. We decided to 'mail' them to a baby. No baby in particular, I don't want her to think someone we know took them from her. So we packaged them all up in an envelope (a big one, because we sent 8 to this baby) and left them in our mailbox with her, and then the garbage when she wasn't there. It has been two nights and three days, and we are doing pretty well. She has fussed for them at night when she is falling asleep, but she knows the 'baby' needs them, and has done pretty well. It's actually been easier than I thought! I will miss seeing this, though.

Feeding the Fish

Nick's extended family came up this last weekend, and we went out to Huntsman Springs to go fishing. It's a stocked pond, but still fun. There was a bucket of fish food and Emma LOVED feeding the 'k' (that's how she pronounces fish. go figure). She dumped it in by the handful, had a great time. It was great to see everybody and I hope they come back up soon!

Solution

I have finally figured out what to with Emma's hair!

It's easy... just a little french braid on top to keep her bangs back, and long enough to meet the pigtails or ponytail. I imagine we will be doing this for a while.

Summer dresses

This was an easy, easy, easy dress to make! I am a sucker for a little girl smocked sundress. I also made matching popsicle dresses with this same pattern for bathing suit cover-ups for both girls. Emma is not a huge fan, but she will wear it. We are making progress. I love these, and did I mention how easy it was?

Peek-a-boo?

I work three nights a week, and I hate that I am missing out on family/baby/hubby time 24 hours a week. But, that's what we have to do at this point. Nick is pretty good about getting out the camera every week or two, and the other night he wanted to show me the pictures he took.
