summer swimming

It has been warm enough to bring out the pool! Yeah! After they played for HOURS, wore themselves out and had a blast. More swimming to come this summer for sure!

i will miss this

...just out shopping at "target city" during Macie's nap time...
I will miss this. Macie cuddled right into the sling and went to sleep while I got all the shopping done. Emma sits in the cart and holds my list and crosses items off for me - not always helpful, but I love it. At about 35 lbs, Macie is at the max weight limit for the sling, and I will miss it for sure.

5k fun run

Yesterday was the Driggs Tin Cup race day, and I entered the 5k and decided to bring Macie along. I did a little training for this one (not as much as for the last race) but I pushed both kids while I trained. One kid was incredibly easy after that! Here are a couple pics from our day:{audrey and I finished in 31:42}
I never take just Macie anywhere with me - she is just at a tough age and she doesn't listen like Emma did and stay close. She lives with no boundaries or fear. It was great to see her light up when she realized just the two of us were doing activities and playing without distraction. I really need to do more one-on-one with the kids.

bubbles

After we went to the zoo, we stopped by Target and Nick somehow meandered over to the toys section... a dangerous place for him. Of course, each girl got a 'prize' and Macie picked these cheap little bubbles set. They are 'no spill' bubbles and both kids can do them alone! We have been having a blast with them!

zoo

We went to the zoo as a family this last Saturday and it was a blast! The highlight was totally the zebras! Emma had the map to the zoo and made us follow the 'treasure map' straight to them. She did allow us to stop by and feed the ducks while I smothered them in sunscreen.
{treasure map in hand}Since we have been home, Macie will find her zoo book, climb on my lap, and 'read' it too me at least twice a day.
