In January, I had the opportunity to go to California and spend a couple days with my Grama Kitch and my Grandpa "Big D". He has been fighting cancer since late last summer, and was in a rehabilitation facility after radiation when I was there. It was a quick, wonderful trip.

Last week, he lost his battle with cancer, but not before teaching us how to put up a good fight. I was blessed to be able to travel back down, this time with my brothers & niece for the funeral service. We met up with my Mom & Dad and little sister there. My Grama's family was also able to make it, which was absolutely wonderful.

I always knew Grandpa was an incredible man, I knew he was mayor of Thousand Oaks and served on the City Council, that he really was a Rocket Scientist and worked for Aerospace, but it was so neat to hear what wonderful things he did in those other aspects of his life. He made a huge impact in the lives of many. His obituary {HERE} is just beautiful. He will forever make me a better person.
{I need to have Colin take all pictures of me from here on out... even at 32 weeks he can take a picture where I don't have a double chin}
