hike, hike, hike!

The day after we went to Yellowstone, we wanted to do Wells family pictures. Savannah thought it would be great to go up Teton Canyon to take them and let the kids run and play so they get a good night sleep, so we headed up. It was a little chaotic (and we all know how much I love chaos...) but we survived. Every last one of us. I think Savannah got better picture than I did, as I spent most of the time putting Macie back in the picture, but this is what I got!

Yellowstone day

Every year we drive through Yellowstone with Nick's family, and it was time for the yearly trip! Since Nick & I are "fair weather campers" we drove up early one day and left that same evening.

The kids enjoyed playing tug-of-war with the jump ropewe saw some neat wildlifeplayed ring around the rosietook a 'james grandkids' picture (notice mine aren't looking? naughty kids!)got a little family shot with the same problem... and Macie's favorite animal we saw? yup. a rabbit. so.stinking.funny!

It seems like every spring/summer we go through this. Emma gets a strange rash and we can't pin down what it's from. And... it's here again. And it's spreading. It started on her upper chest - along her collarbones, and has spread up on her face and down her arms and her upper back. Seriously, it drives me crazy. I can deal with a rash, but on her face... it makes me nervous. (it looks lots worse in person, but you get the idea. small bumps, lightly raised and red. keep in mind she has perfect, flawless smooth skin otherwise.)

I honestly think it's a mild sun reaction, but who knows. The doctor recommended Zyrtec, give it twelve hours to get better (or not) and if not, start her on Prednisone. Meanwhile, we are staying inside finding things to keep us busy. Like how much of your body can you fit in mommy's purse?

to the beach!

Savannah and her kids are visiting while they move and are at Mom & Dad's until they find housing, so we have been playing every day. Today: to the beach! Mom and Dad have a gravel pit on part of their property, and we went 'swimming' today. Mostly just wading, rock throwing, and a little kayaking, but it was a great day!

big river

We went to Jackson for Aunt Kate's birthday last night and the girls had a great time playing on this bridge while waiting for our dinner reservation. Macie kept singing "Big river! Big river!"
