Monkey see, Monkey do

I love having two girls. I love having them dress up together, play 'mermaids' in the bath, have make believe picnics, it makes me happy to see them want to do everything together. Okay, not everything.Poor Emma has been coughing and coughing and coughing. We increased her medications with the instruction of her Pulmonologist, but when she fell asleep, she was hypoxic (around 82%). So, we stuck Macie's cannula on her and although she is not a big fan, she is fairly compliant with it. She will keep it near her nose, which keeps her above 90% (the goal). With spot checks on Macie through the evening, she was actually 90% or above and acting more like herself. We used the portable tank to keep Macie on oxygen all night, and the concentrator for Emma. I think that was the last we are going to need it on Macie. I am praying Emma only needs it at night, but we'll see!

This is our current medicine routine for the girls! I actually have both of the girls on one of the inhalers instead of Macie doing the nebulizer... it's just easier this way. And to top it all off, Macie has a diaper rash. The container on the far right is a miracle! It's my friend Deb's (she's a Nurse Practitioner) special butt paste - $27 for the jar, but it's worth it! Oh... the total of all these medications? $400! We have met our pharmacy copay amount!

here we are again

Wintertime, lots of viruses and germs... I wondered how long it would take before my kids got hit hard. Well, we're here again. My kids call the Respiratory Therapist that delivers the oxygen 'Grandpa.' I think that's getting to know him a liiiiitle too well. Between both kids, this is the fifth time we have had a kid on oxygen. Unfortunately, the routine seems second nature by this point. Luckily, we have made peace with the oxygen tubing and are settling in well. Last night she was having such a hard time breathing that I came home early from work at the hospital only to take her back. I am thankful they let me come home with oxygen and we didn't have to stay. Hope she recovers quickly from whatever this is!

baking cookies

This is how we bake cookies!
The cookies were actually in the oven at this point, and I was in the other room when Emma yelled "MOM! Macie and I are making your counter all dirty!"

sweet

I love moments like this!
Just sitting on the couch, sharing a water bottle.

Shortly after the picture was taken, Emma dumped the water bottle on the loveseat (intentionally) and Macie took almost every can out of the lazy susan. Crazy as it sounds, I would not wish my life any other way!

Family Pictures

My immediate family all met up in Layton this last weekend and got to meet this cute little dude:
Rylee! I still can't believe my little sister is a mom... but she is a great one!

We also did family pictures while we were all together. I think that this pretty much sums up how pictures went for us. Emma refused to look at the camera and Macie was too busy to sit still. I think we got a few good ones on Savannah's camera and I will post them later.
