3

I can't believe my little girl turns three today! We had a mermaid party last night which was really fun. Just family, but that's how we like it. She is generally shy, and had a hard time when everybody was watching her open presents. She mostly stood with her back to the crowd and opened them on my lap. Sooooo Emma. The other seriously funny thing? We started singing to her and she hopped off her chair and got under the table and said "I will just hide under here!" When the song was over, she got back up and ate. She does not like all the attention on her. I had every intention of getting some pictures of her tonight... but she fell asleep. When Macie noticed, she climbed up on our bed to cuddle with her and watch tv. I love how much these girls love each other!

{sweet talk}

While Nick was gone this week (all week) for work, Macie decided to pick up scentences. Here are a few of her first scentences:
"Mommy hold me"
"Emma no go down"
"Mommy I coloring"
"Jacket go now"
"Excuese me, move"
... and my favorite... "Thank you Mommy"
There have been more, but these are my favorites. I can't believe how quick she has put her words together! Once she started, there was no stopping her.

I also had a really funny conversation with Emma:
E: Mom, when I grow up I can be in a band.
L: Okay, honey. Good idea.
E: I will do it when I get big. (pause for thought) Bigger than DADDY! Mom, when you get bigger than Daddy will you do band with me?
L: I am not going to get bigger than Daddy.
E: Just when you get bigger than Daddy.
L: I don't think I am.
E: No, when you get taller than Daddy.
L: I am done growing. I am not going to get taller than Daddy.
E: Are you even going to try?
L: I will try, honey. And then we can be in a band.
E: GOOD! And we can do drums!

can you guess...

Updated: That sweet little Macie dumped Nick's coke on the laptop keyboard when we weren't looking earlier in the week... oops! Luckily, the actual computer still works (which is amazing because the laptop dripped coke for hours!) but most of the keys don't. So... we are a little ghetto in our house and bought a keyboard for a desktop and set it in front of the laptop. Cool, no?

No Fear

... that would be Macie in the pink coat. The girl has no fear.

where is it?

Emma was playing on the counter the other night and had dug through the cabinets and found empty yogurt containers. Nick wandered over and started playing 'where is it?' with bites of eggo waffle under the cups. She was completely fascinated by him moving the cups around- it was so cute!

Sliding

Friday we had this conversation:
Emma: Mom, I wanna go sliding.
Lila: On the slide? Or Sledding?
Emma: Sliding on my sled. Outside. PEASE!
Lila: Sliding on the sled? Sure!

So, I bundled the girls up in their gear- this is the first time Macie has played out in the snow! Last year she was too little to play, so she stayed inside with Nick when I took Emma out. This year we waited for Christmas for a new snowsuit to take Macie out and we sure had fun!
Macie was not sure what to think of it at first, but she warmed up to it.
And then... after circling the garage unit at least a dozen times (it's pretty big, 14 single car garages connected), she decided it was a great place for a nap. I agree. She was sound asleep, we carried her inside and took off her snowsuit and she slept through the whole thing. She's my kid for sure.I carried her inside and Emma helped baby doll sled! Fun fun! We also had a cousin and a friend join us for a little, but my battery died on the camera. I think I circled the garage for an hour and a half total. After we went inside, she cried for more.
