Race Day

I have been casually running for a couple weeks now, usually just twice a week, but decided to enter a race today with a couple of friends. They had a kids fun run that Emma ran in ...okay, I mostly dragged her the entire .3 mile race. She wanted to race, just not to move her legs. She said she had a 'super race day' after. All the kids won a medal, and she was so proud!
She wasn't interested in sitting still for a post-Emma race picture, so this funny lady beside us got up and jumped and danced so she would smile. I think it scared Emma, but I got a kick out of it!
I think she just wanted to get back to the slides!
The race course was one big loop, so Fish (who was awesome enough to get up at 5:00 this morning to come with us) just snapped a couple at the finish line. Done! Yeah! I am okay with my time (28:15) for the amount of training I put in.
I also hoped for a nice post-Mom race picture with Emma, but she had other ideas for that as well.
All in all, we had a GREAT day! More races to come this summer I think!

{forever}

Today I was frantically looking for five little pieces of fabric... I dug through the pile on the kitchen (sewing) table, through the pile in the laundry room, then off to the craft room into the piles there... still no fabric. Emma was helping me and asked to do a craft project. I told her as soon as we found this fabric and cleaned up the craft room a little. Her response? "Oh, Mom! It will take FOREVER!"
... found the fabric in the drawers in our kitchen table. Right where I left them.

AWESOME!

I now know to pay really close attention when I hear Macie say this word. I know for sure she is getting in trouble. This time, I was getting ready for work and she and Emma were playing quietly. Until I hear Macie yell "AWESOME! BUGGIE AWESOME!" Emma had decided to pour some milk for Macie, but could only find a bowl to pour in. Then she filled up the empty milk container with black beans. Meanwhile, Macie was 'washing' her hands in the milk bowl. One of those days... My favorite part was when I sent them to time out, Macie hugged Emma and said "memma awesome. thank you."

Spring in Teton Valley

It's spring here in Teton Valley...
can't you tell?
Yup. I thought that, too when I walked in the snow to the car to go to church. On the other hand, the Tetons were gorgeous this morning as I went to Mom & Dad's to print off a couple things for my Sharing Time lesson today.

flap your arms

Macie drug Nick by the hand out to the porch all evening and instructed him to "FLAP YOUR ARMS! FLAP FLAP FLAP!"
She is so pleased that it is warm enough to play on the deck most days.
