cheese!

Nick and I took the girls to the theatre in Victor to see Tangled last night. It was our first time taking the girls (other than as an infant) so we made a big deal of it. Emma wanted curly hair, then her picture taken. Macie, not wanting to be left out, had to get a picture too. This is her version of 'cheese/poke yourself in the eye'
Total potty breaks for the movie: 7! I am thinking theatres and potty training are not a good combination... that and Macie is just too wiggly for a movie at this point. Emma did great and asked if I could curl her hair so we could go again tonight!

more halloween...

This year we went through 9 costumes between the four of us... it turned into a 3 day holiday for us! For Emma's Joy School party, Emma was Little Red Riding Hood and Macie was a Ballerina.
For a dinner party that night with friends, Emma was Snow White and Macie was the Tooth Fairy. This was by far her favorite, and she asked to dress up as a Tooth Fairy for weeks. Her idea!
Friday was Trick or Treat on Main Street, and we went around businesses on Main Street with cousin M & baby P. Emma was Snow White again, and Macie was a Princess. Emma brought her baby, "Little Olivia" dressed as a Bumblebee. I also made P's poodle skirt (she's hanging out in the warm carseat in the stroller) and M's baby's outfit/poodle skirt.
Saturday was our Ward Party- I am the Secretary in the Primary Presidency in our ward and we are the ones that planned, decorated, etc. for the whole thing. Tons of work! We went as a family of pirates. I was so busy there I totally forgot to get a good picture of the girls in their costumes. Nick even put on a pirate ship shirt to match us. He's a good sport!
I ended up making a total of 8 costumes this year including baby P's and the doll costumes! Ironically, I don't really even care for Halloween!

Joy School Halloween Party!

This is our first of three Halloween events this year, Emma's Joy School Halloween Party! They all got dressed up -

from L to R, Train Conductor, Witch, Little Red Riding Hood {holding Bumblebee!}, a Goomba and Cinderella. Emma insisted her baby have a costume, so I made a simple black shirt, black leggings and a fleece bumblebee striped shirt.

in one minute...

my little girl can find a tub of frosting, open it, and spread the entire thing in the corner between the loveseat and the couch where mommy can't see.
